The Leechers Win
Well I have put up for it for months now and ANET is unwilling to address the issue of leeches in Aspenwood. This mission could be a great fun mission. Heck I even support more missions such as Aspenwood however.
1 Out of 50 games I have 1 to 3 leeches EACH GAME.
2 Names of people were submitted to ANET for bot like activity week after week after week.
3 I see the same people day after day entering missions still after 3 months of reporting them.
I realize that this has been reported time and time again however there is still no solution. SO I am making this last final request.
Please set Aspenwood up so that you must select and join a team to do this potentially fun mission. Players will notice when people are not participating and leeching they will not be selected for the next mission. I used to support the idea of “anyone can participate” style of missions... not any more.

ANET has already answered that while in poor taste reporting them will not do any good as they cant stop them.
as for known leechers being rejected you can do that right now already.
if a known leecher is in the group simply announce xxxx is a leecher and drop the present group and repeat as needed

Another reason to aviod theses PvP areas like the plauge the return of Shiro caused.
I enjoyed theses areas during the double factions weekend but otherwise too often its usually loaded with leechers and kills the mood when members of your team rage quits and lower morale even further making you think if you are gonna spend the next 10-15 mins playing to lose or join the rage quit crowd.
The debate of the idea "anyone can participate" was also brough up for Alliance battles which was largely forgotten since the release of factions and so far everyone has been enjoying themselves thus far without too much complaints. The whole point of competitive co-operative gamming can only fulfil its intended purpose if all parties involved contributes towards its goal and both Aspendwood and Jade Quarry's objectives are more more complex than those of the Random Arena and require a heavier investment of time which does not justify the methods which members are picked for the mission.
Yet if it were to be changed, know that there will be its own wave of nay sayers and angry forum posters, at least for a while....

Well then another solution would be to create another Aspenwood type mission whereas you could select your team instead of just entering the mission.
You could then compare the two and still have competive play options with the chaos of attacking NPC's on both sides.

Back in May when many of us saw this becoming a big long-term problem we put our heads together to think of solutions, and the best one I heard is there should be an NPC that appears after a match who you must talk to get your faction. It's such an easy solution. I hope Anet addresses this soon (before Nightfall is released!) and it also would be nice to finally see some Factions ladders up. Fixing those 2 things about Factions I think would make it a finished and polished game to be played for years.

Teams in fort aspenwood would be a great idea anyway. I really enjoy the map, and would like to be able to play with my friends.

Still with this?
Come on! Do you really think there will be a change regarding the leechers?
Nightfall is coming in 1 1/2 months...
And then everybody forgets it, not just Anet.

They had NO QUALMS about Axeing Alliance Battles because of Leechers (and they did that before Factions was even released) - So I dont understand how it'd be any different for these missions >_>
Unless they found out their mistake or proposed mistake with changing Alliance battles. During the pve weekend everyone was crying "There are too many Leechers and noobs in Alliance Battles!" so before release they changed it to where you had to find a party to get in, and for a week after game release all you heard was "WE LIKED ALLIANCE BATTLES THE RANDOM WAY!!!" so they probably dont want to go through the backlash again.

I found that not letting my self get upset at someone who doesn't care (aka leecher) lowers my stress.
I fight and stay even when the odds are against me. This is not to say I do get erk at the situation no on occasion but for the most part, I just play and not worry about it. Less stress for me.
In my experince with ava at the times I tend to play, leeching is very low to none.

Perhaps when people have moved on to Chapter 6+ and Factions is forgotten, the leechers will be the only ones left in Aspenwood.

Those PvP games are the core of Chapter 2 and Anet will not bother to find solution for leecher problem? When you are bored with PvE and want fast action, these games satisfy your needs but then some morons ruin it and Factions start to feel so empty. Why it is so hard to do something about these leechers?

For sure the fact Anet wont address leechers is a complete joke.
What is the point in making these missions and arenas, only to have them ruined over and over again by leechers?
Very few things annoy me with Guild Wars, I think it is a great game, but leeching in Fort Aspenwood is making the whole place useless.
If ANET will not address this issue, its up to us to start making anet suffer, because they have a duty to ensure we are not paying for stuff that gets ruined by their lack of concern.
I have screenshots of different teams showing up on my bar, with the same individual standing at the res shrine having not moved, how is this not proof of leeching? And why wont Anet take action?
I tell you they will regret not taking action when people lose interest in playing because of anets consistantly lacking stance whenever it comes to anything other than skill balance or farming.
People do not want to play a game where a good portion of their team is AFK or standing around doing nothing, game after game after game.
Sort it the hell out, or the game wont be worth playing. Its that simple.

What troubles me the most is that ANet never answers back in these forum threads to attempt to explain why the leechers get away with it, week after week, month after month.
Most of us pay for a game so we can play it. We do not pay for a game so exploiters with bots can enrich themselves at our expense.
So the question arises that only ANet can answer at this point. Are there good controls against leeches in Nightfall? Or are we in for another long siege of misery watching bots suck the life out of our fun?

But at least you will have an indication that if they fix Aspenwood, complains will come, but they will stop eventually. Until then I don't expect to see people dying out on this problem until it gets fixed.

Team Fort Aspenwood would be both unplayably broken and very, very boring. The randomness is necessary to keep it from becoming a scissors-paper-stone game at the outside gates...
...And as a RA fanatic, I quite enjoy the experience. I'm confident in my own ability to compensate for a leecher or two; they simply don't bother me all that much.
Team Jade Quarry would work very well and be a lot of fun, though.

Out of 50 games you only have 1-3 leechers... whats the problem then? thats at a minimum 47 games leecher free. Unless you meant to word it that you had 1-3 leechers per game. I'm more pissed at the leavers in RA. Its sick, oh no monk I'm leaving.... Seriously give faction for leavers or do something to restrict the amount of RA'ing they can do. Its RANDOM for reason. If you want to be guaranteed a monk goto TA's... sorry off topic :P

I think the OP means that out of all the 50 games he played so far, all of them have at least 1-3 leechers.

I dont waste time on teams that have alot of leechers.
I dont waste my time on teams that have people that have quit or disconnected.
I dont waste my time complaining about the problems in the game, because obviously Anet doesnt care.
I dont waste my time worrying about things I have no control over.
How long do you think the Guild Wars Series will last?
